Compliance Attorney Responsibilities: Provide legal analysis and counsel on U.S. compliance laws, and as needed, coordinating with non-U.S. lawyers on compliance matters, working with Law Department lawyers with the business units in the Upstream, Downstream, Chemical and Global Services companies and with both U.S.-based and international lawyers assigned to work with those global businesses. Coordinate responses to occasional governmental requests for information in connection with a non-ExxonMobil transaction or as part of an inquiry, which may include interfacing with government regulators. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert as a member of the Corporation Law Department s Compliance Law Group and reporting to the Managing Counsel Compliance. Coordinate the advice from other lawyers on compliance matters, including the regional coordinators for the EU and for Asia Pacific. Analysis of compliance data and integration of that analysis into recommended improvements to the Corporation s administration of its global compliance programs. Coordinate and interface with outside counsel to ensure proper handling of matters where counsel is retained. Conduct compliance training for other in-house lawyers and business clients.

Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school. Strong college and law school record (top 1/3 of class preferred). Licensed to practice law in at least one state (Texas bar membership strongly preferred). 3+ years of work experience in a law firm, corporation, or agency, with substantial experience in the area of compliance. Strong analytical and technical skills and ability to exercise sound business judgment and work independently, but as a member of an integrated legal team. Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills. Reputation for high ethical standards and integrity. Record of Pro Bono experience.
