Compliance Attorney The candidate will support Human Resources, Product Management, Training and other parts of the organization in the management and handling of all labor and employment related matters in the Company. Will work closely with internal clients and serve as the in-house legal counsel and business partner providing counsel on labor and employment issues in support of the Companys strategic initiatives. Advise on requirements and implications on wide variety of laws and regulations including ADA, ADEA, FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, Title VII, and employment related state statues; Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities and advise accordingly; Drive the proactive development and implementation of employment risk management strategies, including employee training programs, complaint investigation procedures and practices; Participate in the development of legally sound policies and procedures in all areas of labor and employment law including wage and hour matters, discipline, counseling and discharge, all aspects of laws regarding discrimination, wrongful termination, drug testing issues, etc.; Establish strong working relationships, credibility and trust with clients, legal team members and other colleagues and influence decisions by providing proactive, high quality, timely and cost effective legal guidance; Contribute to the Companys strategic goals by identifying legal consequences and issues associated with initiatives, and recommend alternative course of action to achieve business objectives while limiting liability and risk to the organization; Educate Human Resource colleagues and business leaders on trends and legal actions which may affect the workplace. Support activities of the training department. Build strong relationships and provide proactive and sound legal guidance to business partners resolving complicated matters while maintaining integrity and confidentiality; Demonstrated experience handling a wide range of labor and employment legal matters including: EEOC, FLMA, Title VII, ADEA and ADA; Assess risk and provide recommendations consistent with good business practices; Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects autonomously in a challenging, fast-paced environment while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to tailor messages and speak to various key stakeholders across the organization in a clear and concise manner; Maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining strong partnerships with client group. Must have Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited institution. Should be licensed to practice in Oklahoma and in good standing. Must have 3+ years of substantive labor and employment experience providing advice and counsel related to all aspects of employment law, preferably working with a public company or a mid to large sized law firm.
