Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Litigate cases to verdict, demonstrating superior use of trial skills and techniques. Independently handle a full caseload with moderate level of severity and complexity from case inception through trial/resolution. Work under the guidance of Senior Counsel in litigating complex and high exposure files. Independently draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents. Conduct legal research as needed and supervise projects delegated to paralegals. Candidate must also demonstrate an ability to mentor, train and work collegially with legal support staff. Attend court hearings, depositions and other appointments independently. Provide recommendations and case analysis to clients and claims personnel on appropriate file handling strategy. Complete all required administrative tasks including preparing reports, tracking time and other matters appropriate to performance of job duties. Learn and understand claim customers expectations and key department business goals and assists them in meeting those goals. Travel as required to meet business needs. Federal and e-discovery experience preferred.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited law school with a strong academic record, and 7-10 years legal experience. Insurance litigation work desirable. Prior trial experience as lead counsel a must. Must be licensed with the State Bar of Florida, with no record of discipline. Articulate presentation skills using technology, strong and persuasive legal writing, and oral advocacy skills are required. Must also effectively understand and utilize technology, including, Microsoft Office products, and other law office management programs.
