Associate General Counsel Employment, Litigation and Regulatory The candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic advice and counseling regarding regulatory compliance matters; Effectively and efficiently oversee and/or manage litigation (including class actions), and general litigation as needed; Draft, review, and/or revise company policies, agreements, and other documents; Provide effective legal advice and counsel to senior leadership and Human Resources professionals on the full range of employment-related legal matters; Prepare or oversee the Companys submissions to state and/or local agencies; Represent the Company in employment matters before governmental agencies and in response to demand letters; Provide counsel and direct sensitive or escalated investigations; Oversee legal employment compliance programs, including regarding federal government contracting and immigration; Represent Petco and engage outside counsel as appropriate with respect to the employment-related aspects of acquisitions and divestitures; Supervise research and analyze various legal issues and render opinions; Monitor legislative employment law developments and anticipate and guard against legal risks; Serve as an observer on the Companys Retirement/Benefits Committee (or the functional equivalent); Assist the Chief Legal Officer with non-employment related legal matters and/or departmental matters (including regarding personnel, financial, budgeting, accruing and forecasting, and other subjects) as needed; Oversee and manage the Companys general legal hold and litigation processes in employment and non-employment related matters; Demonstrate ability to effectively work with all levels in the Company and prioritize conflicting demands; Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
