VP, WW Privacy Counsel DUTIES: Advise on domestic and foreign privacy matters in the areas of privacy strategy, data governance and use, and consumer protection legal practice, utilizing privacy as a business enabler. Advise on domestic and foreign privacy matters to ensure compliance with applicable privacy law, including the General Data Protection Regulation, Binding Corporate Rules, Chinas Cybersecurity Law, US State Privacy Laws, including HIPAA, GLBA, COPPA, FCRA, State Breach Notification, and Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices and other privacy and data protection requirements. Partner with business teams on the launch of new products, services, and marketing initiatives to ensure a privacy-by-design strategy is adopted. Provide daily counsel on the privacy and data privacy implications of Companys internal information technology infrastructure and external web platforms and mobile applications. Draft and maintain internal and external privacy policies/notices that accurately reflect how personal information is handled. Responsible for data privacy aspects of Incident Management Program. Audit global privacy program and counsel worldwide client groups to ensure compliance with regional privacy regulations. Develop and implement Company and Member privacy trainings that educate parties on their responsibilities with respect to personal information. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree. JD Degree. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In house experience at a technology, consumer products or multinational company. Effectively built business-enabling functions and programs and led cross-functional teams, both in-house and as an external company advisor, in new and evolving areas. Certified Information Privacy Professional and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional with proven record of global leadership and results, working with Strategy and Technology Management, Fortune 100, and Government/Regulatory/Legal Practice. 15+ years experience as an attorney in a compliance-related position, with relevant legal experience, preferably a mix of law firm and in-house experience. Must have significant client relations responsibility with international business reach. 8+ years management responsibility. Prior experience influencing outcomes in a global organization. Investigative experience, compliance and/or education industry experience. Positive leadership and maintenance of a strong team-working environment. Experience in managing adversarial situations. Reporting and communication at all levels. Maintenance of policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience in a customer service oriented environment. Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, known in industry for privacy-related expertise. Ability to train and interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity. Skilled in cultivating an environment where employees respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics. Expertise in US and international privacy and security laws, regulations, frameworks, and best practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with senior management and Members. In-depth understanding of how to conduct thorough investigative research, possessing deep fact-finding skills and information analysis, and accurately relate details. Ability to solve practical problems and organize workload for effective implementation of new rules and processes. Proven ability to perform efficiently under varied timelines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves. Effectively advocate the philosophy and practical application of the Member Rules of Conduct. Ability to think analytically and strategically. Strong quality and results orientation. Ability to facilitate progressive change.
