Contracts & Diligence Attorney, Real Estate RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Real Estate Department throughout the life-cycle of a real estate transaction, which may require involvement and collaboration with various phases of site selection, contract drafting, diligence, finance, construction, and development efforts across multi-faceted real estate transactions throughout the country. Review, negotiate, and analyze site-specific due diligence, including title insurance commitments, surveys and environmental/geotechnical reports, while efficiently communicating key concerns to the Senior Real Estate Counsel, Associate Real Estate Counsel and various management and director-level stakeholders. Manage and execute key contract drafting / negotiation or diligence projects as assigned, while supporting the team throughout all phases of the real estate transaction life-cycle. Maintain a flexible and responsive approach to dynamic needs of the Real Estate Legal group, as team needs and growth initiatives evolve. Bring your prior legal experience in commercial real estate drafting or diligence, together with a willingness to learn and resolve needs from the ordinary to the complex, such that your skills can grow or morph to the current needs. Draft, review, and assist in the negotiation of commercial real estate purchase agreements and leases (whether retail, industrial or office) in short and long term leases, purchases and sale-leaseback transactions, while being comfortable shifting between asset classes or focusing more specifically on any assigned project or asset class as required. Serve as a collaborator and team contributor to a Real Estate Legal team that currently includes various attorney, paralegal and coordinator roles that work collaboratively to achieve efficient and successful results, as a team. As needed, coordinate with external real estate counsel, local land use counsel, other internal teams, vendors and service providers. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution. A JD Degree from a top-tier law school with 1-3 years of relevant legal experience in commercial real estate. Active membership in good standing with a United States State Bar. Demonstrated experience in conducting real estate contract drafting and/or diligence. Highly analytical, with an ability to identify important issues within commercial real estate contracts and propose solutions to such issues or distill information to items that require additional input or decision-making. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to create and participate in a process-driven workflow. Effective communicator, both verbal and written. Must have the ability to comprehend and revise intricate contractual language. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Enthusiasm and energy to contribute to and thrive in an energetic and rapidly-evolving company with a collaborative atmosphere, prioritizing or re-prioritizing projects as needed. Self-starter with an appetite for problem-solving and ability to collaboratively or independently manage projects or tasks to see goals through to completion.
