Vice President, Assistant General Counsel - Litigation and Project Risk The candidate will be responsible for reporting to the Corporate Senior Vice President and Global Head of Litigation, will be responsible for: Actively managing a diverse portfolio of claims, litigation and arbitration disputes. Providing strategic advice to operations and management to help mitigate risk for design, engineering and construction projects. Advising and collaborating across business units with in house legal, quality, and operations on strategies for risk management, potential claims, litigation, arbitration and disputes. Supervising and working closely with outside counsel to minimize erosion of the companys profit margins and achieve strategic objectives and goals on a cost-effective basis within established time frames and budgets. Providing strategic advice for litigation decisions and reviewing pleadings, motions, discovery and other legal documents. Reporting and advising on associated risks and budgets to business and legal leadership. Coordinating with in-house claims and litigation team members to improve dispute management and recoveries.

The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree. Should have extensive relevant experience including 6+ years of litigation and arbitration leadership experience. Must have exceptional communication skills. Should have proven ability to work in a team-driven, business-centered environment. Must have innate intellectual curiosity to transcend their work beyond a specific niche and learn and expand into new areas of law as part of a dynamic and rapidly growing organization. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to partner with clients to achieve results that make business sense, including identifying opportunities for cost-effective process improvements. Should preferably have major law firm experience and/or experience working in house in global legal department. Must have trial and arbitration experience with construction, design and engineering related disputes. Should have project advice for construction, design and engineering clients.
