Senior Associate General Counsel, Labor And Employment

Senior Associate General Counsel, Labor And Employment The candidate will be providing labor and employment law advice and support to company. Advise on labor and employment law matters to include hiring, terminations, discrimination, wage & hour issues, disability accommodation, state and federal compliance (e.g., ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, OFCCP and WARN Act), investigations and traditional labor law. Manage employment arbitrations and litigation. Support resolution of attorney demand letters, and Federal, state and local agency claims and charges. Provide comprehensive employment law support for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Prepare, negotiate, and evaluate risks involved with complex employment and similar agreements, including those containing employee non-competes and other restrictive covenants. Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry-leading practices and trends. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks. Provide educational information and training on labor and employment matters. Occasional travel. Must have Juris Doctorate. Should have 12+ years of legal experience focused on labor and employment matters with a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Must have knowledge of federal and state employment laws and related compliance issues. Must have experience advising businesses having operations in multiple states. License to practice law in the state of residence required. Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in Minnesota preferred. In house experience a plus. Experience with mergers and acquisitions desired. Experience with international employment law and/or a global business model preferred. Health care industry experience an advantage. Some traditional labor law experience a plus.
