Corporate Counsel, North America Responsibilities: Provide legal support to the organizations day to day contracting needs. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and undertake monitoring risk management. Develop legal documents and correspondence (e.g., agreements, legal memoranda, corporate policies). Factual investigation into sensitive matters, including interviews or document/electronic research; preparation of work product on findings and recommended follow-up actions. Provide representation as required at various proceedings. Keep abreast of changes in applicable laws and regulations pertaining to industry and employment, providing report as necessary to business leaders and stakeholders and ensuring policies remain compliant. Conduct legal research and prepare reports and presentations as requested. Address and identify internal areas of concern, endeavouring to provide resolution so as to not progress to a legal matter. Participate in negotiations and mediations as required. Work on sensitive legal projects having enterprise-wide impact (e.g. researching, interpreting and analyzing statutory language, and developing procedural solutions that ensure compliance with legal landscape while minimally affecting the business). Provide input on the decision whether to send matters to outside counsel and assist in the oversight of outside counsel as necessary Identify opportunities for increased efficiency within the organization and develop and implement revised processes that reduce waste and ensure resources are effectively and efficiently utilized. Review, train, and monitor implementation and compliance of company policies and programs involving but not limited to Ethics, Personnel Policies including EEO, harassment, discrimination, False Claims and Antitrust and environmental compliance. Assist in drafting internal and external communications on legally sensitive issues.

Requirements: JD Degree from a recognized law school required. Must be an active member of a United States Bar Association, with current license to practice Admitted to practice in the one or more of the following states NC/CA/FL/GA/NY. 5+ years of relevant post-Bar professional experience required Familiarity with Employment law an advantage. Prior work experience within manufacturing, construction industry strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of legal concepts, principles, and terminology Thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations Strong understanding of legal reference materials, procedures, and legal filing systems Competencies/Skills Strong presentation and public speaking abilities. Critical thinking, analysis, and research skills are essential. Ability to read, interpret and apply legal documentation, laws or laws and regulations. Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion; knowledge of data privacy laws. Superior interpersonal skills to interact with clients, attorneys, coworkers, and external agencies. Demonstrated research skills. Superior time management skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and diplomacy. Resourcefulness and flexibility. Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is critical.
