Counsel II, Employment (Litigation) The candidate will be responsible for managing the companys employment litigation throughout the United States in a manner that is cost-effective, strategic, and consistent with the organizations focus on legal compliance, risk mitigation, employee experience, and client relationships. Manage all employment litigation (directly and through oversight of outside counsel). Identify and oversee remediation related to or arising out of litigation. Develop and drive litigation strategy. Track, analyze, and report on litigation developments, data, insights trends, and recommendations. Actively oversee and partner with outside counsel on employment litigation to include class action and single plaintiff lawsuits, administrative charges, agency complaints and audits, and attorney demand letters. Directly handle and represent the company in employment litigation when outside counsel is not engaged. Proactively develop and drive employment litigation strategy. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), develop remediation recommendations, and consult on and oversee implementation. Collaborate with company executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders relating to litigation management, risk mitigation strategy, and remediation. Diligently manage litigation budget and counsel fees. Liaise and manage relationships with EPLI providers to include creation and submission of bordereaux reports. Track, analyze, and report on litigation developments, data, insights trends, and recommendations (to include creation of executive and board reports). Maintain litigation files (to include updates to matter management system). Other responsibilities as assigned. Technical Use standard software, hardware & technology of work unit (Proficient). High School Diploma or GED (Required), Bachelor's Degree in Business or related (Required, Master s/Advance Degree in Law (Required), Licenses or certifications (Please List) State Bar Admission (Required). Must have 7-10 Years of related Experience. Should have J.D. degree from accredited law school. Must be currently licensed member of at least one state bar organization in good standing. Should have 7+ years experience with employment law. Must have 5+ years experience with employment litigation representing employers (either in-house or private practice). Should have 3+ years experience as in-house counsel. Should have significant experience conducting workplace investigations and responding to government agency charges, complaints, and audits, and attorney demand letters.
