Compliance & Regulatory Counsel Responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise to guide the strategy of the compliance program and related compliance work across cross-functional teams throughout the company; Draft, update, and maintain various compliance policies and processes; Strong knowledge of U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws; Experience with U.S. and EU import and export sanctions and controls; responsibility for export compliance policies, procedures, licensing, training, audits, and government communications; Respond to charges and conduct internal compliance investigations (often in partnership with human resources or internal audit); work closely with the chief compliance officer to implement corrective action protocols and prepare reports to the Audit and Finance Committee; Develop efficient process for tracking key performance indicators and other metrics to identify and mitigate, proactively, potential operational risks, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the ethics and compliance program; and Prepare ethics and compliance program training materials and documentation; work with internal and external partners to provide training across the company. Regulatory Become the resident expert on applicable regulations and industry guidelines, including regulations applicable to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in various global jurisdictions; Develop strong understanding of regulations and guidelines of the Federal Communications Commission and various state public utility and public service commissions related to smart meter technology; Review laws, regulations, agency orders and related regulatory announcements to assess business impact; Conduct cost-benefit analyses for compliance with industry regulations and develop new processes; and Develop short and long-term strategies to manage regulatory issues.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and licensed, as a member in good standing, with any U.S. state Bar. 5-7 years of related legal experience. Strong business acumen with an ability to balance legal and business requirements; Well-developed project management skills (i.e., identify an issue, develop a plan, obtain cross-functional consensus, and implement a process); Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to record detailed information thoroughly and accurately; Ability to work well independently and with coworkers and share knowledge as part of a team; Must be very detail-oriented, but simultaneously able to see the big picture; Possess excellent judgment, have an even temperament; and adhere to confidentiality rules pertaining to ethics and compliance work; and Time management and prioritization skills.
