Employment Law Attorney Duties: Review, negotiate, draft and manage new employment agreements and employment-related templates, including correspondence, offer letters, commission plans, separation agreements, performance reviews, disciplinary documents, employee handbooks and internal policies and other employment-related documents and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and corporate employment policies. Provide Counsel on labor and employment related matters, which may include, but not limited to, human resources issues, wage and hour law, employment agreements and policy-related issues, FMLA matter, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations. Support all aspects of the Firms employment activities and play a role in ensuring the companys compliance with U.S. laws. Provide day-to-day legal advice on counsel to the HR and other business teams on a variety of employment matters. Support HR on complicated hires, employee terminations, performance management, compensation, investigation, accommodations, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters. Collaborate with other attorneys, with respect to advice and counseling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners. Coordinate and drive completion of employment related projects, including internal process reviews, new policy roll-outs and implementation, and training programs. Assist with the development, updating, maintenance and review of the companys employment policies/procedures to insure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications: Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. from a top law school and licensed to practice in California. 4+ years of labor and employment law experience. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and legal counsel on all aspects of employment law, including: discrimination, harassment and retaliation; disability, FMLA, leaves of absence, ADA and reasonable accommodation; wage and hour and FLSA exemption issues; contingent works; non-competition and other restrictive covenants; and whistleblowing. Willingness to think outside of the box and to take on responsibilities outside your wheelhouse. Strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization (experience interacting at a senior level with business management teams a plus). Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently. Ability to effectively and efficiently manage outside counsel.
