Immigration Attorney - Immigration and Refugee Services The candidate will provide legal immigration representation to our clients and give information, referral, and advocacy services to families and individuals in accordance with established policies and procedures. Will work within the direction of the Managing Attorney of Immigration and Refugee Services you will participate in the development of policies, strategies and goals for the department and for the activities of the agency. Maintain an active caseload as assigned by the Managing Attorney. Casework includes to: Removal proceedings and relevant relief, adjustment of status, refugee adjustments naturalization, political asylum, waivers of admissibility, consulate processing, visa petitions, and employment authorization. Complete all required case documentation meeting the highest level of professional and ethical standards. Interview clients from all walks of life and other cultures with respect and understanding. Provide testimony at the New Hampshire General Court on Immigration policies and provide United States Congress with vital data on immigration issues in New Hampshire. Represent clients before USCIS and Immigration Court. Conduct needs assessments and home visits where necessary. Collaborate with others and interact with legal, BIA accredited personnel, paralegals and other staff in a professional and respectful manner. Represent Catholic Charities NH on various boards and committees as assigned by the Managing Attorney of Immigration and Refugee Services as well as attend various luncheons and meetings involving educating staff, volunteers, and the public. The candidate should have Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from an accredited educational program. Bar Membership and 2+ years of experience in Immigration Law is required. Certified or eligible for certification from the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) is essential. Strong knowledge of the Judicial System is essential. Bilingual in English/Spanish (read, write and speak) is preferred. Must have Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products.
