In-house Litigation Attorney

In-House Litigation Attorney The candidate will be working on all aspects of corporate and fund litigation (including devising legal holds, formulating litigation strategy, evaluating litigation opportunities (as applicable), preparing case assessments, reviewing and revising legal briefs, liaising between relevant business units and external counsel, discovery collections and responses, and insurance coverage analysis). Responding to regulatory requests and third party subpoenas for records and testimony (including negotiating the scope of requests, discovery collection and privilege and responsiveness review, witness interviews and deposition preparation and defense if necessary, and drafting objections and responses). Analyzing regulatory and litigation events against regulatory, financial, and contractual disclosure obligations and client requests, and drafting effective disclosures regarding such matters, tailored to the relevant audience (which may include internal business partners, regulators, corporate and/or fund boards, auditors, clients, and insurers). Providing support on a variety of projects, including pertaining to corporate data retention. Must have J.D. degree from an accredited law school. Membership in a state bar, with membership in the California State Bar a plus. Should have 4-5 years of commercial and securities litigation experience, particularly in the area of mutual fund and investment adviser litigation. Experience in employment law, bankruptcy, and/or class-action litigation a significant plus. Extensive e-discovery experience is required. Experience working in-house a plus.
