Corporate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for delivering practical, timely and high quality legal services in a medical device manufacturing and distribution environment. Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, this role will be involved in a broad range of legal matters including commercial transactions, litigation management, employment law, corporate governance, compliance and M&A support. The role will engage with all aspects of the companys businesses as part of its global legal team. Structure, draft, negotiate and review a variety of commercial agreements and transactions. Communicate legal advice and guidance to business partners and executive leadership. Collaborate with Human Resources regarding a variety of employee matters including hiring, termination, compliance and other aspects of employment rights and responsibilities. Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently. Stay abreast of relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Understand and appropriately manage the cultural and logistical opportunities and challenges of working with a foreign parent company and global organization. A J.D. required; admission to practice in Illinois preferred. Should have 4+ years of experience working at a nationally recognized law firm and/or in house legal department. Must have strong interpersonal and consultative communication skills. Should have high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential matters. Must have strong negotiation, oral and written communication, presentation, training, organizational, and teamwork skills.
