Managing Corporate Counsel The candidate will be overseeing cases in numerous countries, acting as case manager for recognition and enforcement of arbitration awards Determining the next steps in either USDC or local courts where restaurant is located must be taken in order to collect moneys owed; confirm termination of the Franchise Agreement and discontinue use of the TMs. Attend regular calls with BDAs and legal teams (monetary and operational compliance) to resolve matters, before, during and after arbitration commences (Restaurants at Risk). Oversee alternative to arbitration through mechanisms such as enforceable title, notarial deeds and hearings in damages. Litigate complex cases including termination of BDA agreements, vendor agreements, and multi-unit franchise owners. Determine use of external resources (law firms and debt collection agencies) within an annual budget. Provide legal advice and strategy to the international legal team on the cases they are handling in their regions as well as supervising a team of five (paralegals) at HQ. Manage a team of 5 legal support professionals and attend to budget and administrative systems, including tracking of cases, trends, sums spent annually. Must have 3-5 years litigation experience. Additional language skills preferred. Experience with a matter and invoice management platform preferred. Should have 5+ years litigation experience in-house or private practice setting.
