Corporate Coverage Counsel Responsibilities: Provides in-house legal advice to the Company on liability insurance coverage matters involving a high degree of original and creative legal endeavor, evaluation of complex or novel issues, or vigorous adverse parties. Performs legal research and provides legal coverage opinions to claims personnel on commercial and personal lines liability coverage issues. Has ability to manage high paced and diverse workflow. Work with outside coverage counsel and provide oversight and legal advice on coverage litigation matters. For assigned states, keeps abreast of insurance coverage case law, trends and experience and prepares summaries for dissemination of information within the company on recent coverage cases and trends. Develops and presents training programs to internal claims departments and participates in roundtable conferences with claims personnel on legal coverage matters. Maintains current knowledge of legal issues and developments in the law. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities may change and increase over time as business needs and individuals capabilities warrant. Qualifications: Completion of law school with a JD Degree or L.L.B. Degree and admission to the bar of 1+ jurisdiction in the United States required. Generally requires 5+ years experience as a practicing attorney. Must have expertise in providing legal coverage advice on commercial and personal lines liability policies. Requirements include proven analytical skills, legal writing and communication skills, client focus, handling multiple priorities, attention to detail, familiarity with corporate operations and SBU objectives, and proven ability to build productive relationships with Company personnel as well as outside counsel and representatives of other companies and adversaries.
