General Counsel - Outdoor and Action Sports

General Counsel - Outdoor and Action Sports The candidate will contract negotiation, review, drafting and management. Review of marketing matters, including athlete sponsorship's, product marketing, labeling and advertising issues. Oversee product compliance, including regulatory compliance and safety in coordination with corporate staff. Manage patent application process with outside counsel and brand staff. Oversee customer and sales channels with respect to pricing issues avoiding anti-competitive activities. Involvement with Direct to Consumer initiatives (including e-Commerce and Retail operations). Coordination and oversight of litigation matters. Coordination of legal processes among VF Outdoor business units and other business units of to identify and implement best practices. Legal compliance training and management, in coordination with compliance department. Coordination of legal due diligence in connection with Outdoor brands acquisition transactions. Lead legal team; coach, hire and motivate team. Should hold a law degree from an American law school and be a member of the bar. Must have 9+ years of legal experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm; current employment in a corporate legal department with law firm experience early in career is preferred. Should have experience working on significant domestic commercial transactions, contract review and management, legal compliance. Experience working with consumer product companies preferred. Experience with intellectual property and marketing a plus. Demonstrated leadership ability is essential.
