Senior Counsel - Employment And Litigation The candidate responsibilities will include: Draft, review, analyze and negotiate employment-related agreements and policies, including the employee handbook, offer letters, severance agreements, and incentive plans. Provide practical business advice to our People & Culture team and managers on various aspects of day-to-day employment-related matters, including advising on performance management and termination, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA, and taking into account union considerations where appropriate. Assist with employment, copyright and other media claims. Work closely with outside counsel to review pleadings, advise on strategy, and support internal discovery efforts. Research and monitor developments in employment laws and develop and implement internal practices and policies to achieve compliance with applicable laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels. Manage and work with outside counsel to support immigration matters. Assist with other legal matters as the need arises. Must have JD degree from accredited law school and licensed to practice law and in good standing. Should have 3+ years of relevant employment and/or litigation experience, either in an in-house or law firm setting (some in-house experience preferred), preferably within the media/internet or entertainment industries. Experience with employee benefits matters or union environments a plus. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
