Contracts Attorney Responsibilities: Drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating general and sophisticated corporate and commercial agreements, including IT, licensing, services, material transfer agreements, consulting, supply, confidentiality, collaboration, clinical trial, research and data-related agreements as well as addenda/amendments and statements of work. Providing legal support across the organization, including quickly and effectively identifying complex legal issues raised by other FMI business units, researching new legal issues, and providing advice in a manner that integrates legal risk management with FMIs business objectives. Developing and maintaining strong business relationships across the company and contributing to cross-functional or departmental projects and teams. Assisting with the development of policies and procedures and standard template language to be used in contracts. Assisting the legal and compliance teams with a variety of legal matters, including general corporate, compliance, regulatory and other legal matters relevant to FMIs operations, including U.S. and ex-U.S. operations. Supporting efforts to effectively manage the delivery of legal services including budgeting, recruiting, performance management, process improvements, operations, training and team building. Supporting the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration and teamwork. Managing document production requests in connection with litigation matters, including compilation, distribution and associated communications and record keeping. Managing and complete any additional projects or legal matters assigned by other members of the FMI Legal Team.

Qualifications: JD Degree from a national law school and admission to any state bar in the United States. 4-6 years of legal experience, with meaningful time dedicated to representing life sciences or healthcare companies at a law firm and/or within an in-house legal department. Experience in an in-house legal department of a life science company strongly preferred. Significant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating general corporate and commercial agreements, including licensing, services, IT, research, collaboration, consulting, clinical trial, and data-related agreements is required, and experience with complex licensing, services, material transfer agreements and collaboration agreements is a plus. Strong legal research and analytical skills required. Must thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure and with limited supervision. Masterful at executing both strategically and tactically. Must possess a high energy level and be driven and committed to client services with the ability to quickly gain trust and credibility from team members. Strong team player in the truest sense of the phrase; someone who is solutions-oriented and collaborative. Must be well-organized and possess strong planning skills, with extremely high attention to detail. Sound business judgment with the ability to escalate legal issues when needed. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead as well as collaborate and function well in a team environment. Ability to engage professionally and maturely with clients at all levels, and to influence outcomes through effective leadership skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way. Unquestioned integrity, credibility, and judgment. Experience with contract management software is a plus.
