Corporate Counsel, Trademarks/Copyright RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage a global trademark portfolio, including trademark clearance, prosecution and enforcement. Provide legal advice on trademark, copyright, domain name and social media issues. Conduct and review trademark searches globally; provide clear and actionable legal opinions on trademark searches and copyright issues including risk analysis and mitigation strategies. Enforce Pfizers trademark, trade dress and copyright rights, including supervising U.S. and foreign oppositions and litigation and drafting cease-and-desist letters; manage trademark and copyright enforcement and risk including bringing/defending trademark oppositions as well as trademark/copyright court actions and claims of infringement. Provide legal support for trademark, copyright and domain name aspects of deals, licenses, agreements and other transactions including due diligence and review of agreements. Negotiate and draft settlement, coexistence, assignment and license agreements. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Effectively delegate and accomplish certain work through others, including trademark paralegals/specialists and administrative personnel. Work collaboratively within Legal and with business partners to identify and execute creative and practical legal and business solutions. Providing thought and matrix people leadership, as follows:. Work with and supervise outside counsel. Train clients in trademark and copyright law. Advise IP stakeholders on trends and developments in trademark and copyright law. Supervise the work of non-attorney professionals in the Trademark/Copyright Group. Represent Pfizer before governmental, industry, or administrative bodies and with other third parties (business partners, collaborators, and/or outside consultants). Implement process improvements in response to policy changes and to increase efficiency. Manage special projects Contribute expertise and leadership to corporate-wide initiatives.

Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school, demonstrated academic achievement and current bar membership in good standing. Passage of bar examination. 4-5 years' prior experience with a law firm or corporate legal department focused on trademarks. Global trademark prosecution experience, including but not limited to USPTO practice, and experience handling TTAB and UDRP proceedings. Prior in-house experience and/or background in litigation is a plus. Sound and practical business judgment and decision-making. Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing deadlines; strong organizational skills. Demonstrated team player; strong interpersonal skills; resilient and change-agile. Collaborates well with team members and IP Group stakeholders at all levels. Awareness of consequences of own actions and decisions, and impact of ones behaviors on others and team; can anticipate and adjust as appropriate; sets a good example for others. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with trademark software applications such as Saegis and other online tools. Foreign language proficiency a plus. Last Date to Apply for Job: July 25, 2019
