Compliance Counsel

Compliance Counsel Duties: Collaborate with our HR team and Corporate Audit team to advise on the full range of employment, labor, and immigration law issues. Collaborate with our HR team to develop, advise, and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures, and to develop and conduct training on a variety of labor and employment issues regarding federal and state laws. Advise and lend expertise on hiring, performance management, compliance, benefits, and if necessary, investigations. Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with current and pending legal regulations. Review employment/HR related contracts. Manage any potential or active litigation re: employment-related matters including, but not limited to, Title VII and FEHA, leaves of absence, wrongful termination, breach of contract, fraud, reductions in force, harassment, and wage and hour matters. Manage outside counsel/law firms handling certain employment and/or immigration matters. Engage strategically in risk assessment and mitigation and developing innovative approaches to legal issues in support of business objectives. Coordinate and work closely with the Legal, Finance, Corporate Development, HR, and Business Development teams, and outside counsels. Advise and support on corporate governance-related matters.

Qualifications: Admission to practice law in the State of California is required. 6-8 years in commercial transaction, corporate lawand related experience. Strong law firm or in-house experience/training required. Preferred Qualifications. Member of California Bar. 4+ years of experience at a law firm or in-house (includes 2 years in corporate law). Bilingual in English/Korean.
