Employment Attorney The candidate will provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance and counsel to HR and management on a variety of subjects, including hiring practices and procedures, employee performance management and separations, FMLA and other protected leaves, ADA reasonable accommodation, and wage and hour issues. Help ensure compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations, including the development, implementation, interpretation, and maintenance of employment-related policies and assistance in development and presentation of education and training materials. Investigate and defend state and federal charges of discrimination, wage/hour audits, and other regulatory complaints, including preparation of position statements and other responsive documents. Efficiently manage outside counsel in handling employment litigation. Work with insurers to ensure covered employment claims are handled appropriately. Draft employment, settlement, and separation agreements. Assist in employment-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions, as well as reductions in force and location closings.

The candidate should have Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, and member of the bar of at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Should have 5+ years of employment law experience including counseling, training, and dispute resolution. Should have extensive experience with Title VII, the Equal Pay Act, FLSA, FMLA, ADEA, ADA, OWBPA, WARN, state leave and break laws, workplace safety requirements, wage and hour mandates, whistleblower protections, and other employment-related laws. Should have extensive experience handling employment litigation and EEO charges. Experience at a large law firm with additional in-house experience is a plus.
