Corporate Staff Attorney The candidate responsibilities will include: Responsible for researching and responding to legal electronic inquiries through the corporate legal inbox and other sources. Work collaboratively with other in house legal personnel and support staff in reviewing and preparing legal documentation and/or processing transactions. Review, analyze, and track incoming attorney correspondence and escalate as applicable. Prepare and draft forms of contracts and other legal documentation. Review and interpret all documents including deed of trusts, notes, assignments, property title, dockets, pleadings, etc. Review and analyze various successor in interest documents to ensure that the company is acting in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Prepare and submit filing requirements related to licensing renewals and applications in multiple states, including secretary of state, mortgage banking, mortgage loan origination, debt collection, etc. Ensure company and applicable company affiliates are adequately licensed in accordance with various state rules and regulations. Draft and/or update various policies and procedures, as applicable. Mitigate risk through issue spotting, tracking trends through legal correspondence, and conducting legal research as necessary. Track and respond to discovery requests for document production. Work collaboratively with other departments on projects that have a legal and/or regulatory impact. Communicate findings, trends, and potential issues to Regulatory Counsel and Corporate Counsel/Senior Vice President, as applicable. Other duties as assigned. Must have Juris Doctor (J. D.) from an ABA accredited law school; 2 years related experience in mortgage servicing as a licensed attorney. Knowledge of real estate law as it relates to mortgage default, including residential foreclosure, bankruptcy, probate, and title impediments preferred. Should have knowledge of federal laws impacting mortgage business such as RESPA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, OFAC, and SCRA and applicable state laws. Active member in good standing with a bar association of any state within the United States, preferably Florida. Previous experience with MSP, Black Knight/LPS and Sagent preferred.
