Counsel III - Community Banking Core Case Team Litigation The candidate responsibilities would include providing legal advice and managing litigation arising out of companys Community Banking line of business. These matters include: Article 3 and 4 cases; embezzlement cases; Unfair, Deceptive, Abusive Acts and Practices Litigation; and alleged Ponzi scheme litigation, among others. Additional responsibilities include conducting legal research projects and acting as advisor to business clients on pre litigation demands as well as assisting in interpreting regulations and policies. Directly manage a large caseload of lawsuits, claims, and demands throughout the country involving diverse subject matters. Frequent telephone, email, and written communication with bank outside counsel, opposing counsel, and bank employees. Retains and manages outside counsel as needed. Conducts research on matters pertaining to various aspects of the Community Banking Operations. Represents the Company in negotiations and settlements with outside parties and their counsel. Provides legal advice on matters for personnel in multiple businesses. Reports to the Managing Counsel - Community Banking Core Case Litigation team within the Consumer Banking, PVSI and Consumer Lending Litigation Section. The candidate should have active State Bar membership. Must have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters. Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills desired. Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines. Closing date: 02-01-20.
