Counsel - Media The candidate will be responsible for a broad range of media-related deal and advisory work across broadcasting and cable television, digital and social media and connected devices and technology. Should have a deep understanding of content distribution and licensing, broadcast and cable television and digital and social media, and will have meaningful experience structuring, negotiating and drafting complex content-related agreements. Among other areas, this position will serve as a primary legal point of contact in connection with the NFLs licensing partnerships with social media channels and emerging platforms, distribution partnerships and opportunities for NFL Network and NFL RedZone, and the NFLs international media business. Will provide assistance in connection with the NFLs domestic television rights and game broadcast arrangements. Will provide transactional and advisory support for the NFL Media group in connection with the NFLs domestic and international media business. The position will report to the NFLs Senior Vice President/Media Counsel and will interact extensively with the VP/Media Counsel and other members of the NFLs legal department, key business executives across the Leagues media business, and counterparts at existing and potential NFL media partners. Should have Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year university or college and J.D. from an accredited law school. Should have 5+ years experience in a transactional legal role focusing on media and content distribution/licensing. Should have Valid membership (in good standing) in a state bar. Should have strong contract drafting experience, including content distribution/licensing and pay-television affiliation agreements (traditional distribution and digital over the top models). Should have broad experience with social/emerging platforms and broadcast/cable television. Should have strong negotiation, communication and project management skills. Command of, and experience navigating, business and regulatory trends in the media/technology landscape. Ability to handle diverse projects simultaneously for multiple stakeholders across different business lines.
