Senior Intellectual Property Legal Counsel

Senior Intellectual Property Legal Counsel The candidate will be advising technical and business stakeholders on patent matters.Setting and implementing a patent strategy for innovations. Interacting with patent offices throughout the world in order to strengthen and accelerate the issuance of patented innovations. Managing outside patent prosecution counsel both domestically and globally. Supporting IP litigation as needed. Developing, coordinating and reviewing patent research and analysis projects, including prior art searches, competitive intelligence, landscapes, patentability analyses, portfolio analyses, infringement/non-infringement analyses, validity/invalidity analyses. Coordinating and managing patent committees. Working with in-house patent professionals in managing patent harvesting and prosecution. Providing internal education and trainings related to IP. Providing such other IP support as needed. Should have JD admitted to a US state bar in good standing. USPTO registration in good standing. Must have a cumulative of 5+ years working as a patent attorney. Excellent oral and written communication skills.Substantial experience in patent prosecution, preferably in technical fields related to medical devices. Should preferrably have strong education or industry experience in one or more of the following fields: of medical device, signal processing, algorithms, software, electrochemistry, polymer chemistry, and mechanical arts. Experience working at a top law firm and in-house counsel. Should have Technical degree required in engineering, physics, life sciences or related field. Advanced technical degree (Master's or Doctorate) in the above disciplines strongly preferred. U.S. Law degree and license required. USPTO Registration Number required.Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. At this level a graduate degree may be expected with 3+ years of related experience.
