Insurance Defense Attorney - Bodily Injury Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare pleadings, discovery, necessary court documents and attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials in assigned venues; Prepare timely structured reports on litigation developments to claims partners and Progressive insureds; Obtain, review and analyze written discovery, depositions and medical records; Communicating and collaborating with assigned claims partners and legal support staff while maintaining excellent relationships; Assess value of claims and risks of exposure.

The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in New York. Should have 3+ years experience in auto defense litigation or plaintiffs personal injury. Ability to identify risk, review and assess medical records, depositions and other legal documents. Ability to organize and prioritize workload working with an electronic diary. Listening, verbal and written communication skills. Effective as a team member or working independently. Ability to work effectively with clients and customers. Ability to negotiate on behalf of clients. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to conduct legal research. Understanding of all applicable ethical duties.
