Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment Law The candidate will draft and review employment-related agreements. Partner with the Human Resources team and provide advice on a wide variety of employment and labor matters (both domestic and international), including wage and hour compliance, disability accommodations, independent contractor classification, recruiting/hiring, discipline, involuntary terminations, leaves of absence, training programs, investigations, managing within the law, and risk assessments. Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and departments throughout Seagate to develop and maintain strong working relationships between Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Security, Internal Audit, and other functional groups, utilizing a team based approach. Engage with and manage outside counsel to effectively resolve threatened or outstanding employment litigation matters and to establish best practices for prevention of matters. Understand and be able to translate into plain English the legal ramifications of varied legal issues (including regulatory requirements) and clearly and succinctly articulate the risks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment-related legal developments and proactively promote compliance and mitigate risks.

The candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills (including presentations). Solid years of applicable law firm and in-house legal experience (at least 2 years of law firm experience is preferred) is needed. JD and admission to California Bar or Minnesota Bar is required. Demonstrated time-management and communication skills are must.
