Senior Counsel - Privacy And Cybersecurity

Senior Counsel - Privacy and Cybersecurity The candidate will be responsible for providing primary legal support in relation to existing and emerging cybersecurity-related privacy and data security matters for Citizens Financial Group, Inc. and its subsidiary entities. Provide legal and regulatory support on projects and compliance implementation for various business and control functions, as well as support enterprise-level projects and initiatives. Working closely with and supporting a number of business and functional business partners across the organization. Assessing and advising on legal risks under meaningful data protection and cybersecurity laws and regulations, coordinating with colleagues within the Legal Department, Compliance, Risk, business lines and other functional groups. Supporting and collaborating with CSO, CIO and Privacy Office colleagues on policies and procedures to ensure that adequate technical and administrative controls are implemented in compliance with applicable cybersecurity and data protection laws and regulations. Supporting investigations, breach notification, and incident management activities. Supporting and collaborating with contract functions, including Corporate Transactions Legal team and Procurement, by providing advice on global privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations, meaningful policies and position(s), and implications for cybersecurity and data protection safeguards/controls, including training and assisting with creation and updates of contract provisions and templates. Monitor relevant legislation, regulation and supervisory guidance regarding global cybersecurity and data protection laws and regulations, monitoring financial services authority developments, legal enforcement trends, and industry practice trends. Work closely with risk partners and colleagues (including Compliance, Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud and Enterprise Risk) to deliver streamlined actionable advice to the business. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree. J.D. from an Accredited law school is required. 10+ years of related regulatory experience at a major law firm, government agency or in-house department of a large financial institution is necessary. Strong legal reserach and analysis skills are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are must. Project management skills and experience are a plus. Financial services industry is preferred.
