Senior Corporate Counsel - Labor and Employment

Senior Corporate Counsel - Labor and Employment The candidate will be responsible for all labor and employment related legal matters including, immigration visa related matters for professional staff, EEOC matters, Human Rights Commission (HRC) matters, employee inquiries/investigations, employee pre-litigation matters, disciplinary actions, mediations and arbitrations. Will provide legal support for human resources (HR) on labor and employment issues, including EEOC and HRC matters, to include drafting statements of position. Respond to labor and employment related demand letters. Stay abreast of changes in states laws that affect the business and its employed professionals and other employees. Advise, counsel and train HR on various labor and employment law issues. Provide support to the CLO on all labor and employment related litigation. Attend as requested, mediations and arbitrations in conjunction with the CLO. Provide day to day advice to the company on legal labor and employment related matters. Conduct employee interviews and investigations. Provide guidance on all immigration visa matters impacting the company and its employed professionals. The candidate should have Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution. Must have 10 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house setting with an emphasis on labor and employment law. Must be member in good standing of the Florida Bar or an ability to obtain Authorized Inhouse Counsel status in the state of Florida. Must have working knowledge of labor and employment matters for a healthcare employer. Knowledge of state employment laws outside the state of Florida is a plus. Possess research, analytical, organizational and computer skills. Must be able to work independently, but within a team framework. Must have strong communication skills and be extremely responsive.
