Corporate Attorney Responsibilities: Provide legal assessments, interpretations, on recommendations on company policies and procedures. Help manage issues with compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Provide research and opinions to General Counsel on legal matters and projects, including advising and rendering opinions with respect to the legal implications of proposed actions. Work with representatives from various departments on developing and modifying practices and procedures to conform to legal requirements. Keep company informed on all legislation affecting company operations. Monitor, review, interpret and draft high-priority legal documents including contracts, corporate documents, transactional documents, data requests, regulatory filings, reports, policies and presentations. Support and contribute to a wide variety of other legal matters on an as-needed basis. Qualifications: Texas license. 2+ years of legal in-house experience (as a lawyer or a paralegal) or other leadership work experience in an office environment which would increase effectiveness for an attorney in this role. Experience with general contract review. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Top level organizational skills. Thorough follow-through and drive to complete tasks. Must be a solutions-oriented thinker. Must be highly ethical in performance of work duties. Must have a service-oriented attitude. A commitment to excellence and quality of work. Must be proficient with the fundamentals of the legal process (issue identification, researching the governing law, investigating the facts and analysis). Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, other departments and management. Must successfully interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism. Must be able to work with a team as well as independently, take direction and coaching well. Must pay tremendous attention to detail in work product. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other general computer applications.
