Legal Counsel, Employment Responsibilities: As a member of companys fun and fast-paced Legal Department, this attorney will serve as an employment litigator supporting multiple business units. Key to this role will be to assess litigation risk, manage active single plaintiff litigation, negotiate resolution where appropriate, or manage the case through trial. Specific responsibilities will include: Drafting responses to the EEOC and other government agencies. Manage all aspects of litigation and discovery, including e-discovery, and coordination with company witnesses and record custodians. Help build and implement scalable, world-class employment policies and programs that balance legal risk with business impact. Work closely with the companys leaders and HR teams to handle and support internal investigations, audits, pre-dispute conflicts, employment law claims, and trials/arbitrations. Work closely with outside counsel to manage risk and ensure that internal partners receive effective, business-focused employment law support. The candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and take active ownership of your areas of responsibility. We are looking for a self-motivated strong teammate with the ability to get out ahead of problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions on a timely basis. Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively, you will be effective at juggling and prioritizing multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment. A quick and flexible learner: intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change. Adept at and comfortable making complex cost/benefit assessments. Inspire trust, forge relationships quickly, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners. You have strong interpersonal skills, and can effectively navigate and use your relationships at all levels of any organization. Have high standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, well-honed analytical skills, strong oral and written communications skills, and a keen sense of humor.

The candidate should have J.D. required. Admission to the California Bar preferred. Should have 5+ years of employment and labor law experience at a highly respected law firm, the government and/or in-house corporate environment with emphasis on litigation. Experienced in employment and labor alternative dispute resolution and litigation. Client counseling experience preferred. Evidence of exceptional ability.
