General Counsel - Corporate The candidate will meet physical and sensory requirements stated below, and be able to work in the described environment. Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment of the legal department. Effectively manage and develop in-house attorneys and paralegals, and select and manage outside counsel. Draft, review and negotiate various types of transactional documents including purchase and sale agreements, operations transfer agreements, leases and financing documents, managed care agreements, and others. Negotiate and successfully close purchase and sale agreements, leases, and other transactions. Prepare corporate documents. Research, analyze and advise Chief Legal Officer and other members of senior management regarding laws and regulations affecting the organization s business initiatives including healthcare provider systems. Interact with the organization s health care facilities and senior management as a liaison for the legal department. Other special projects and duties, as assigned. JD degree required from an accredited U.S. law school. Must have 7+ years of related experience handling corporate and transactional matters, preferably including experience in a corporate legal department. Health law experience preferred. Must be admitted to KY Bar or eligible for KY Bar limited certificate of admission as in-house counsel.
