Associate Counsel-Contracts Duties: Timely review, red-lining, negotiation, and implementation of customer and vendor contracts in accordance with the companys contractual policies and goals. Evaluates and advises on the impact of proposed contractual language and develops and communicates alternative provisions to best represent the interests. Collaborates with General Counsel and the sales, operations, and finance teams in the review and revision of proposed contracts to protect the companys interests in the contract arena. Serves as a contract gatekeeper to ensure review and approval of proposed contractual language from the appropriate departments and personnel. Serves as a contract gatekeeper to ensure complete signing and retention of contracts in accordance with the companys policies. Directs and manages the continuing development of master contract logs. Ensures communication is consistent with company culture and appropriate to the target audience. Establishes credibility throughout by being an effective listener and problem solver relating to the companys contractual issues. Provides technical advice and knowledge to others within the legal contractual discipline. Continues improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational issues of the organization as they pertain to contracts. Works on both scheduled and unscheduled days or beyond regular work hours due to demands, as needed. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: A JD Degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school is required. Active admission to practice law in one or more states is required. 5 years of legal experience in the areas of contract drafting, negotiation, and management is required. Must have experience in organizations of large-scale. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Experience in multi-unit settings preferred. Relevant industry experience a plus. Must be able to read and interpret contract documents and related communications such as letters and e-mails. Must be able to effectively communicate KBS contractual goals in both oral and written form. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have computer skills, including internet research and operating on-line applications. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times. Ability to analyze contractual issues/ problems and implement effective solutions. Demonstrates superior time management skills, including sensitivity to urgent matters. Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, listening, and conflict management skills. Possesses adaptability, resourcefulness, ability to navigate varying requests, and stress tolerance. Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Carries out all duties in accordance with the company mission and philosophy. Able to understand and to follow written and verbal directions. Able to manage effectively multiple teams with different functions, priorities and goals. Demonstrates ability to be flexible, prioritize tasks and responsibilities and complete duties and projects within allotted time. Able to respond to change productively and to handle additional tasks and projects as assigned. Regular attendance is required; this is not a remote position. Ability to follow appropriate safety guidelines. Able to carry out the essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing specific, current risk of substantial harm to health and safety of self and others.
