Corporate Attorney The candidate will responsible for supporting the implementation of the legal strategy of the organization. The person in this position, relying on a combination of legal expertise and knowledge of the business, provides legal advice and recommendations for action. This position advises one or more of the Companys subsidiaries on legal issues and risks impacting the subsidiary to support achievement of long term business goals and to ensure that the subsidiarys legal strategy and position are in alignment with the legal strategy of the parent company. This position may negotiate matters of some complexity, research legal principles and precedents, consult with outside counsel, draft and prepare legal documents, investigate matters and gather relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods and provide oversight and guidance on departmental compliance matters consistent with the practice of the organization. In addition to other legal responsibilities, this person may provide oversight and guidance with respect to the areas noted below. Using business acumen and legal skills, this individual will assist in the speedy administration and management of all legal matters. The main duties are to provide legal advice, recommendations, oversight and guidance with respect to all legal issues and all areas of law which impact the Companies, including but are not limited to the following: Corporate Governance & Regulatory Compliance. Labor Relations & Employment Matters. Advice on the drafting, interpretation and implementation of corporate policies and evaluate the compliance implications of planned business activities. Preparation, drafting, and negotiation of various standard and non-standard contracts to ensure they comply with the business requirements and organizational policy. Advise and counsel management with respect to other legal issues as they arise, Performing responsibilities as assigned. Superior analytical, writing and computer skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Self-starter and able to function with minimum supervision. Demonstrate good judgment and ability to perform in position. Experience in Employment and Labor Relations, transactional matters, and/or corporate governance and regulatory matters a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Work, and Publisher. Juris Doctor from recognized accredited law school and licensed to practice in U.S. Virgin Islands. Should have 5 years law firm and/or in-house counsel experience. Must be a member in good standing with the Virgin Islands Bar.
