Corporate Counsel - Real Estate and Commercial Transactions, Springfield The candidate will work closely with the General Counsel and Resources business teams in the negotiation and drafting of a full spectrum of commercial real estate (timberland and non-timberland) transaction documents, including without limitation, purchase, sale, 1031 exchange, leasing, easements, operational agreements, and other documentation. Will provide legal support on real estate, commercial leasing matters, and potentially environmental law. This position will oversee the companys commercial leases (as lessor and lessee) and create a program to manage such for the enterprise. Also provide legal support on a variety of other commercial transactions, including vendor, customer, consulting, services, transportation, information technology, and other agreements. Will become an integrated team member with business teams, working directly with and advising business clients. Success in this role will require a lawyer who is a creative solution provider, one who facilitates and helps business team members accomplish their objectives while maintaining compliance and mitigating risk. Collaborate with the General Counsel and Resources business teams in the negotiation and drafting of a full spectrum of commercial real estate (timberland and non-timberland) transaction documents, including without limitation, purchase, sale, 1031 exchange, leasing, easements, operational agreements, and other documentation. Provide legal support on real estate, commercial leasing matters, and potentially environmental law. Oversee the companys commercial leases (as lessor and lessee) and create a program to manage such for the enterprise. Provide legal support on a variety of other commercial transactions, including vendor, customer, consulting, services, transportation, information technology, and other agreements. Become an integrated team member with business teams, working directly with and advising business clients. Facilitate and assist business team members accomplish their objectives while maintaining compliance and mitigating risk. The candidate must have an active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the Bar (preferably Oregon or willing to obtain OR licensure via reciprocity). 5+ years of commercial real estate law experience in a law firm or a corporate legal department is required. Law degree and excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited school required. Must be strong communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills charismatic and confident presentation style in interactions with executive management and clients. Should able to handle both a wide range of matters and a high volume of matters, with a focus on those areas presenting the greatest risk/reward to the Company and where s/he can add the most value.
