Senior Counsel - It Contracts

Senior Counsel - IT Contracts The candidate will negotiate, coordinate, and draft technology, intellectual property, privacy/data security, new media, e-commerce, telecommunications and intellectual property-related agreements. Will negotiate, coordinate, and draft other complex agreements, such as supplier, outsourcing, and other vendor agreements. Provide strategic legal advice and support to vendor sourcing, information technology, advertising, marketing and corporate services business units worldwide. Advise on privacy matters in the U.S., Europe, and/or globally. Demonstrate skills as a strong practitioner and negotiator, a creative problem-solver, self-starter and hard worker, with the desire to grow with the position. Demonstrate strong project management, prioritization, service orientation and collaboration skills. Exhibit detail orientation, with very good organizational skills and significant experience in advising clients. The candidate should have 8 years of transactional experience at a major law firm and/or in-house legal department, reflecting a record of accomplishment. Should have Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school. Excellent academic credentials is required. NYS Bar admission required. Must have strong understanding of technology, cloud computing, privacy/data security and/or intellectual property law. Must have general vendor contracting background including in the areas such as cloud computing, software licensing, open source, off-shoring, outsourcing, consulting, telecommunications, market data, sponsorships, advertising and marketing. Business acumen and familiarity with the market and regulatory landscape affecting information technology vendor contracting is required. Insurance and/or other financial services industry experience a plus.
