Assistant Compliance Counsel

Assistant Compliance Counsel The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head of Compliance by performing both key day-to-day functions and special projects. Collaborate to assess risk and implement programs to promote integrity and compliance. Ensure company compliance with policies, state and federal laws and regulations. Assist with updating risks assessment and developing risk mitigation strategies and methods to operationalize compliance. Assist with researching, drafting and updating corporate compliance policies and standard operating procedures. Conduct role-specific compliance training, update and develop additional training content. Stay abreast of promulgation of new laws and regulations, compliance and legal trends/developments and enhance business practices. Work with outside counsel when necessary and appropriate. Meet with relevant business partners, coordinate schedules to meet deadlines, maintain calendars. Perform other related duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate. Assist with compliance investigations as necessary. Must have a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent), Law Degree and 1 year experience. Should be Licensed (or about to become licensed) to practice law in one or more jurisdictions. Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
