Corporate Counsel, Employment Law Duties: Provide legal advice on a broad range of employment law topics, including employee relations, discrimination and harassment, performance management, benefits, wage matters and deferred compensation, separations, workplace investigations, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, recruiting and hiring, employment agreements, immigration matters, government audits, reductions in force, and company policy / procedures. Draft, implement, and maintain templates to support HR and various business lines (e.g., employment agreements, separation agreements, non-competition agreements, incentive plans, contractor agreements, responses to charges of discrimination, and recruiting contract templates). Provide legal advice on the design, development, implementation and oversight of benefit plans, including health and welfare, equity, retirement, deferred compensation and leaves of absence plans. Provide legal advice and represent LivePerson in employment and benefits compliance, enforcement and litigation matters. Conduct legal research and analysis to support LivePersons HR and business initiatives. Managing outside counsel on employment research and litigation. Coordinates employment/benefits due diligence activities and provides legal support for various transactions. Proactively monitor and advise clients on labor and employment laws and advise on potential implications to current or future strategies and operations to enable ongoing compliance. Develop and collaborate on training to educate internal clients, partners, and stakeholders on legal development and requirements that could affect policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications: JD Degree and a member in good standing of the New York Bar. 5+ years of significant in-house experience practicing employment/benefits law. Must possess presence to interface directly with all internal constituents, including executives, managers and department leaders. Strong counseling and advising skills, a broad knowledge of federal and state employment laws, ability to prepare and present training, and the ability to address legal issues proactively. Able to work independently in a team-oriented culture. Strong written and oral communication skills, with special emphasis on drafting. Strong sense of ownership and personal responsibility, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage expectations of stakeholders in a timely, fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail.
