Employment Counsel RESPONSIBILITIES: Partner with the Human Resources team and others on employment law and related matters. Address employment matters and advise the Human Resources team on related policies and practices through the coordination of internal and external resources. Draft, maintain and review templates and policies for employment matters (including employment agreements, contractor agreements, separation agreements and employee handbooks). Collaborate with the Human Resources team and others on creation and implementation of policies and processes as well as long-term planning. Provide advice and counsel to management and Human Resources partners on a broad spectrum of employment law issues, including hiring, recruiting, employee relations, performance management, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, and immigration. Monitor and analyze changes in the law and legal risks related to employment policies and decisions, and propose creative and effective solutions to address those risks. Assist with the formulation and revision of employment policies and provide guidance for alignment of employment practices. Assist with management of labor and employment disputes, matters and litigation as needed. Assist in managing outside counsel on employment matters. Assist in developing and conducting training and education programs for employees, managers, and the Human Resources team.

REQUIREMENTS: Bar admission in good standing in at least one state. 4+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm employment practice or in-house legal department, preferably at a hyper-growth company. Experience with employment law in non-US jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, France, Singapore or other countries is a plus. Familiarity with key aspects of employment law, including matters related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation and internal investigations. Ability to work successfully in an entrepreneurial, fast moving environment across different functional groups, time zones and cultures. Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude. Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients. Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting interests.
