Corporate Counsel, Labor & Employment Duties: Provide in-house legal counsel on labor & employment related matters, which will include, but not be limited to, human resources issues, wage and hour law including prevailing wage compliance, leave and disability, workers compensation, unemployment, state agency claims, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, executive compensation, and employment-related litigation, grievances and arbitrations. Develop and maintain strong business relationships among the various internal business partners requiring support. Investigate and/or actively manage Human Resources investigations of employee complaints and all administrative cases, audits or inquiries, e.g., OFCCP, NLRB, EEOC, state agency, and DOL wage and hour, including filing position statements and attending mediations. Work with outside counsel to defend the Company in all labor and employment litigation. Developing strategy, reviewing pleadings and motions, participating in depositions, and assessing potential exposure, legal precedent, public relations, political ramifications, etc. Assist in managing the efforts of outside counsel, including controlling and reducing outside counsel fees, as well as consultant and other costs for related labor and employment law services. Develop and/or deliver labor and employment education programs that facilitate compliance efforts and reduce the risk of future claims and/or litigation. Respond to employee and attorney demand letters. Work with Labor Relations Director and/or outside counsel on union organizing campaigns, decertification petitions, arbitrations, grievances, and collective bargaining negotiations. Perform legal research regarding employment matters; provide guidance on compliance with, and interpretation of, applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Formulate creative business-oriented strategies and solutions to prevent labor and employment legal issues. Educate clients and stakeholders on legal matters, policies and procedures. Advocate ADTs interests in assigned matters. Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with clients, stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues. Provide regular reports to the ADT Deputy General Counsel, Labor and Employment regarding the status of EEO litigation and administrative cases, educational initiatives, and other labor and employment projects. Perform such other duties as requested by the ADT Deputy General Counsel, Labor and Employment.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law. 5+ years of experience in labor & employment law with large corporate law department and/or a nationally recognized law firm. Experience with government contract work helpful. Prefer candidate with experience in handling labor & employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Committed to be a legal business partner to internal clients. Excellent oral and written communication skills. High degree of competence as a labor & employment lawyer; ability to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing counsel to clients. Sound judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned decisions and recommendations; ability to cross think and determine who should be kept informed. Self-starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty and fairness. Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills in support of a collaborative environment. Self-confident and inspires confidence from clients.
