Senior Employment And Compliance Counsel

Senior Employment and Compliance Counsel The candidate will be a key member of the Legal team with a focus on employment counseling and compliance. Provide internal advice and legal counsel to Human Resources and other departments on general employment matters including employment policies, hiring, accommodations and leaves, performance management, and separations. Partner with internal clients to find solutions to personnel and employment issues that are pro-active, legally compliant, and practical for business administration. Manage EEOC and state agency claims and employment-related litigation. Review benefits plans. Work with outside counsel and coordinate legal advice from subject matter experts including immigration matters. Assist with the oversight and management of the companys corporate compliance program. Manage internal investigations (e.g., customer incidents, vendor incidents, and employee incidents). Provide counsel and legal support on business and healthcare regulatory matters. Advise and counsel the business team on risk management and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Assist as needed with overall Legal team responsibilities, including management of internal Legal responses in accordance with agreed-upon response metrics. Assist with legal education presentations to internal business partners. Should have Juris doctorate from an ABA accredited law school with accompanying state licensure. Should have 6 years employment law and compliance experience. Relevant experience in the areas of employment law, compliance, and health care law. Knowledge of health care law/industry highly desired. Ability to independently, effectively, and efficiently take initiative, address array of issues, and draft policies and reports. Proven ability to partner with internal business leaders.
