Senior Counsel, Litigation The candidate will own a very broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters in a wide range of practice areas and in numerous jurisdictions across the country. Will report to the Vice President, Legal. Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and support to internal teams across the company to assess litigation risk. Manage outside counsel in devising and implementing litigation and regulatory strategy. Develop and implement scalable solutions for litigation challenges. Manage various other disputes/matters depending on aptitude and increasing volume and variety of work. Advocate our ethical culture and core values across all departments and markets; demonstrate personal integrity, respect and teamwork in the performance of all job responsibilities. Stay up-to-date on new and evolving regulatory requirements. J.D. and membership in at least one U.S. state bar is required. 7-10 years of experience practicing in the government, at a leading law firm, or company is required. 2+ years of in-house experience is strongly preferred and preference will be given to candidates who have in-house experience. Experience representing companies in complex litigation, government investigations, subpoena responses, as well as managing outside counsel, budgets, and developing and implementing litigation strategy is required. Extensive experience responding to regulatory inquiries and handling a wide variety of litigation and pre-litigation disputes, including arbitrations and mediations, in a diverse range of courts and administrative bodies is required. Experience building and leading teams, managing people, and comfort providing feedback to individuals at various levels of seniority is required. Specialized knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: consumer litigation, UCL 17200, government investigations, and/or privacy and data security is required.
