Compliance & Commercial Counsel Responsibilities: Assists in the development, implementation, communication, and enforcement of organizational compliance policies and procedures that will deliver outcomes that are ethically sound and legally compliant. Assists with the review and monitoring of business activities to ensure compliance with established company policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Assists with the operation of the Companys Board and Executive Compliance Committees. Consults and advises business leaders on compliance matters and risk mitigation strategies across a wide range of business activities. Serves as the Legal/Compliance reviewer on Akceas promotional and medical review committees. Assists in the operation of the Companys corporate governance infrastructure and related corporate matters. Assists with securities filings and SEC matters. Assists with commercial contracting and related operational matters. Assists with business development and strategic transactions. Oversees and manages the paralegals in the Legal Team. Manages the Companys contract process, including identifying contract process issues and recommending improvements to the contract process Build strong relationships with the Executive Team and various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications: JD Degree required, with 5+ years of experience working in or serving the life sciences industry which may include practice at a national law firm and/or in-house experience Direct experience with legal and compliance matters relevant to a public biopharmaceutical company, including corporate, securities, product advertising and promotion, commercial contracting, healthcare professional interactions, training, and policy drafting Proven ability to successfully navigate and thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. A professional person who can be trusted with highly confidential information. Someone who is able to influence others to drive sound decision making. A person who is resilient and highly adaptable to regularly shifting priorities and challenges. A hands-on  individual who understands the need for involvement at all levels of activity within a growing and dynamic company environment. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy Willing to get involved in ad hoc projects with a can-do attitude Experience drafting and negotiating pharmaceutical contracts, including service agreements, consulting agreements, clinical research agreements, master service agreements and supply agreements Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
