Assistant Vice President - Employment Law Counsel The candidate will provide clear and concise legal advice to Firm and its affiliated companies with respect the full range of labor and employment law issues, including hiring, employee relations, terminations, performance management, compliance, privacy, complaints and investigations, policies, compensation and benefit plans, reductions-in-force/WARN, EEOC/MCAD matters, corporate transactions, human rights and accommodation issues, leaves of absence, labor laws/standards, immigration and mobility matters, etc. Be the primary legal point of contact for escalated employee relations and human resources matters, providing timely and practical advice. Draft, modify and/or provide advice regarding legal and human resource documents, agreements and communications. Be the primary legal point of contact for immigration/mobility processes/issues. Respond to demand letters and negotiate separation agreements. Monitor and provide advice regarding relevant legislative, regulatory and industry developments. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (from compliance, HR and legal, amongst others) in respect to global policies, practices and initiatives. As required, manage outside counsel retained to assist with litigation matters. Participate in industry conferences, presentations, committees and working groups as required. Provide other advice/perform other responsibilities as required.

The candidate should have member in good standing with the Bar. Licensed to practice law in respective country is essential. Should have 5+ years of prior relevant experience with major law firm and/or corporation. Experience with and knowledge of the U.S. labor and employment law and legislative requirements are essential. Experience with and knowledge of the U.S. immigration issues relevant in employment context an asset. Very strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Strong influencing, organizational and collaboration skills are preferred.
