Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Litigation support and interfacing with outside counsel and insurance adjusters; Provide support to outside legal counsel in connection with pending litigation; Coordinate legal research, both domestically and globally; Secure documentation needed to defend claims, which will include the use of PACER; Accumulate, maintain and manage huge volumes of documentation needed for the defense of Elliott in litigation matters; Prepare case assessment documentation and summaries that will highlight key issues involved and prepare detailed timelines of the matter at hand; Assist with the strategic analysis/planning of the defense of Elliott in anticipated or current litigation; Review work product of outside counsel and modify, as needed and required, to appropriately defend Elliott; Organize pleadings and prepare pleading indexes as required; Prepare case documentation including answers, responses and document production replies for litigation matters; Prepare documentation required for commercial litigation and other legal matters; Interface with other Legal Department personnel and outside counsel to facilitate activities regarding asbestos defense litigation; Work with other Legal Department team members and other corporate teams to develop, coordinate and facilitate trial testimony; Gain an understanding and working knowledge of Company equipment/products manufactured/distributed over the decades to be conversant in same so as to support litigation/trial strategy and prepare witnesses and experts for testimony; monitor and assure that litigation holds are being put in place, as required, and released when claims have been resolved; Maintain necessary software systems to provide ample protection as required by laws/regulations regarding litigation holds and E-discovery requirements (currently Encase software); Assist other Legal Department personnel with the sequestration, imaging and forensic analysis of Elliott-issued company equipment on an as-needed basis; Monitor service of process, alerting Elliott General Counsel and other Legal Department personnel, as well as Risk Management, of new filings and assist in selection of outside counsel to defend new matters; Update and maintain litigation log to track legal matters on a worldwide basis and work with Elliott General Counsel and Senior Corporate Counsel to issue on a quarterly basis; Brief fellow employees on important legal developments; Work as one company within Group entities and assist with communications to be provided to Corporation to provide legal updates; Maintain professional license and skills by regular participation in continuing legal education and business seminars and by reading professional materials; Represent Company in local government organizations; Ensure that appropriate legal support functions are provided in a cost-effective and timely manner; Provide other support to the General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel and other Legal Department staff members as required.?

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school; Admitted and in good standing to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Supreme Court (no lapse in license); 1-3 years of litigation experience with a law firm; Must be able to work in a legal team atmosphere and must be able to multi-task and manage various types of legal issues; Excellent research, writing and communication skills are necessary to effectively perform the functions of this position; the individual must be able to speak in a persuasive, confident and effective manner; Must be a self-starter, require little supervision, be able to work independently, as well as be an effective communicator; Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; knowledge and experience with Lotus Notes is preferred. Preferred: A positive outlook and approach with problem solving; Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions; Strong orientation towards results; Be a self-starter; Have the ability to coordinate the efforts of others; Have attention to detail and passion for efficiency are critical to this role.
