Senior Corporate Counsel DUTIES: Provide legal advice, support and services to Corporation in Foods, Energy and Overseas & Trading Divisions on a broad range of topics and issues. Prepare, review, negotiate and advise on various commercial agreements, agreements pertaining to mergers, acquisitions and divestiture transactions and agreements relating to the purchase, sale and/or leasing of real estate. Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters directly or with the assistance of outside legal counsel. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations, and advise Company on legal rights, remedies and options. Work closely with the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel and the Seaboard Overseas & Trading General Counsel and provide legal support to senior management of the Company as needed.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the State of Kansas. 4-7 years of legal experience at a large- or medium-sized law firm or corporate legal department required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience dealing with all levels of business management, including senior officers. Strong presentation skills with the ability to persuade a wide range of audiences. Ability to work independently and properly prioritize pending tasks. Demonstrated creativity and a solution-focused mindset to assist in resolving complex issues and disputes. Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives at the same time. Experience managing outside counsel and working with external regulators. An overall positive attitude, collegial approach to client and peer interactions, and the determination to achieve the optimal outcome for the Company. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements. Experience reviewing credit facility documentation and working knowledge of secured transactions. Experience with real estate transactions and employment, immigration and tax law. Experience in corporate governance requirements and processes. Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC regulations and other regulations applicable to public companies.
