Risk Management Analyst & In-House Counsel RESPONSIBILITIES: Offer pragmatic, timely counsel on a wide variety of legal issues including contracts, project disputes, insurance claims and personnel issues. Learn business and industry and show a commitment to continuous education. Establish and maintain excellent rapport with executives and employees and work collaboratively alongside colleagues in all areas of the company. Collaborate with General Counsel, other team members and departments to find creative, practical solutions to legal challenges. Work with and manage external counsel as needed. Work well with others to complete tasks in a timely manner and to accomplish the mission of the organization. Demonstrate a high-level of problem solving ability. Take ownership of, and responsibility for, projects that are assigned. Provide support, guidance, and assistance in the following areas: Legal Analysis and Research. Research and analyze complex legal issues and topics and prepare recommendations for courses of action. Analyze substantive legal issues and prepare recommendations for company. Maintain current knowledge of Colorado construction law, employment law and labor law, and best practices. Provide legal advice to departments, executives and project teams. Dispute Resolution. Analyze and counsel project teams on strategies to avoid and mitigate potential disputes. Provide guidance and assistance while resolving a wide variety of construction disputes. Advise and consult regarding mechanics liens issues. Consult with and manage external counsel. Advise the Human Resources Department on a wide variety of employment and labor issues. Research and analyze new developments in labor and employment law and regulatory compliance. Contract Review and Negotiation. Review, modify and negotiate contracts with external customers and vendors. Participate in, and eventually lead, internal contract review meetings. Educate key stakeholders and project teams regarding contractual risk and insurance requirements. Develop and implement legal/risk management initiatives and processes. Assist and guide departments on the development and implementation of key policies and procedures. General Risk Management. Proactively identify, assess and mitigate risk in all areas of the organization. Participate in discussions and provide recommendations regarding risk management relating to potential future projects that the company is pursuing. Assist with risk assessments during project planning and execution. Initiatives and Training. Educate and train business units, the project managers, future leaders and others on a variety of issues related to contracts and risk. Participate in a variety of strategic initiatives related to risk management.

REQUIREMENTS: A Law Degree from an accredited law school. A license to practice law in Colorado and in good standing. 1-5 years' experience. Experience in either a law firm or an in-house legal setting. Experience in construction is strongly preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lead and collaborate with various employees at all levels of the organization. Knowledge regarding a wide variety of legal concepts. Knowledge regarding construction contracts and delivery methods. Strong research and analytical skills. Strong negotiating skills. Ability to adapt to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information. Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks. Effective written and oral communication sufficient to be able to elicit and communicate information. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, customers, vendors, consultants, management, and employees. Organizing work to accomplish tasks in a timely and effective manner. Prioritizing to meet job needs. Demonstrate a high-level of complex problem solving ability. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
