Assistant Counsel-Litigation The candidate will both directly represent the Company and manage outside counsel in litigated matters. Will have lead responsibility on those matters with limited supervision or direction. The role will develop and manage budgets for efficient and effective management of cases. In addition, the role will collaborate with senior lawyers and business partners to provide strategic guidance and solutions to protect and mitigate risk to the company. The should have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Member in good standing of the New Jersey Bar. Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer/client focus. Expertise in handling all aspects of litigation practice, including depositions, written discovery, arbitration/mediation, trial and appeal. Proven ability and willingness to handle various types of cases, including highly specialized and complex matters. Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, and a strong work ethic; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Ability to exercise exceptional judgment and ability to assess risk. Ability to work independently and under time constraints in a fast paced and dynamic environment. First chair trial experience a plus. Prior in-house counsel and/or major law firm experience preferred. Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity. Successful candidate must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices. Should have 5+ years of general litigation experience.
